The hip, young graphic design company Grinning Moon Creative is this year’s winner of the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award. The award was presented at the Merrimack Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, January 21st. The five year-old company relocated to New Hampshire from Pittsburgh, PA and has been instrumental in the development of a number of small local businesses during its two and a half years of operation in New England. Grinning Moon Creative’s graphic design services include logo design, stationery, brochures, website design, book jackets and signage, all with original photography and illustration. During the design process, Grinning Moon often helps companies make key decisions about their company image, target market and competitive edge. Executive Director Danielle Mojonnier said that “At the end of the design process, we often feel like our clients are family. We watch them grow and cheer them on, wanting so much for them to succeed.” Some of Grinning Moon’s local clients include Innovations Salon & Spa in Merrimack, Healthcare Review in Nashua, Lynx Lacrosse in Merrimack, Beachfront Property Swimwear in Merrimack, Red Oak Property Management in Manchester and the Merrimack Veterinary Hospital.
The Business of the Year award is given to a Merrimack Chamber member based on company growth, positive image and reputation, active community involvement and Chamber participation. Grinning Moon’s business has doubled each of the last two years, and its owners are proud of the positive word-of-mouth their business consistently receives. They are also glad to help improve the development of Northern Merrimack with the extensive restoration work they’ve done on the company’s 1850 farmhouse. Artistic Director James Mojonnier was an active member-at-large on the Chamber Board in 2004, and his partner Danielle is on the Chamber Board for 2005. James continued in his efforts to help small businesses with his work as an organizer and presenter for the Chamber’s Small Business Seminar program and both James and Danielle have also planned and run several Chamber events over the last two years. They are honored to be chosen for this award, and hope to continue to grow and be a positive influence in the community.
